The Ruby Hoedown in 10 minutes
by gregg on Aug 12, 2008
Jason and I hit up the Ruby Hoedown last weekend and I did my video bit, putting together a montage of the proceedings for those who didn’t make it:
Ruby Hoedown in 10 minutes
You can also click one of the following links if you’re interested in seeing one particular person, but I highly recommend just watching the whole thing, it’s only 10 minutes for heaven sake!
Bryan Liles, Chris Wanstrath, David Black, Gregg Pollack, Jason Seifer, Jeremy McAnally, Jim Remsik, Jim Weirich, Joe O’Brien, Obie Fernandez, Rein Henrichs, Rick Bradley, Robert Dempsey, Yehuda Katz, and Yossef Mendelssohn
Anyone out there interested in having me do this for their conference/event? hehe… Hey, I can dream right? Talking about professional video, the Confreaks guys were there, so I suspect we’ll see full video coverage of the conference in a couple of days. When they do post them I’ll link up their videos as well.

The Confreaks page is up for Hoedown 2008 but there appear to be a lot of dead links to the videos…. So it still might be a work in progress: http://rubyhoedown2008.confreaks.com/
I sound like a used car salesman. But I got my point across. TATFT!
lol you said “abreast”. Keep doing what you do.
I’m interested in knowing how bryanl got RSpec.
Wait, what? A hoedown summary vid that doesn’t have Giles’ presentation?
Thanks for putting this up, and thanks for dealing with my fumbling, run-on attempt to summarize my lightning talk that was threatening to take about the same amount of time as the talk itself.
The music really brings it all together for me. It’s just like being there all over again.
Just in relation to your video comment, as much as I enjoy the Rails Envy podcast, your videos are particularly awesome and it’d be great if you could find some way to support doing more.
P.S. brianl is awesome.
Hey guys, just to let you know, unfortunately the videos will not be released until early next week because we accidentally shipped the hard drives with the footage on them instead of taking them on the plane with us. We are in the process of revamping our blog and web site, but in the mean time please follow us on twitter (username confreaks).
I’m organizing a Ruby conference October 18th in Columbia, SC—http://scrubyconf.colaruby.org/ if you guys can make it, let me know!
Gregg, great review of the RubyHoedown. Really appreciated.
Keep up the good work, its great to hear you every week.
Regards from Argentina

What happened to David Black’s beard?!! It’s gone!
